I have been a potter for the last 28 years. What started as a hobby for 10 years has become my profession and my passion, working and teaching in clay.

I work in stoneware and porcelain producing mainly functional ware. Pots are high fired in an electric kiln.

"I make pots that people can prepare and serve food in. I try to price them that people can buy them and not be afraid to use them"
- Richard Abnet USA

Prior to attending The Cape College I gleaned knowledge from books and attended every workshop available.
I subsequently attended The Cape College / Paarl, Tech where under Ralph Johnson’s expert tuition gained N4 and N5, passing with distinction. It was a huge learning curve.

I have entered Regional Exhibitions since 1993 and have been accepted on National Exhibitions. I have been serving on the South African Ceramics ( Western Cape ) committee for a number of years.

My inspiration comes from many sources but mainly from Nature and my love for animals. I try to make pots to facilitate people’s lives by making them as user friendly as possible.
